Gentle Reader,
My husband and I skipped church today. I’m well aware of the admonition to not forsake gathering together (Heb. 10:25) and I’m no advocate of the “just me and God” thing. We need each other in this life of faith. However, I also believe that there are days when it all becomes too much. We have to unplug. Throw on the sweat pants and heat up the cocoa. Turn on Star Trek.
As we lounged around yesterday, our conversation minimal, I found myself deeply concerned about Chris’ well-being. I wanted to do whatever I could to make him feel comfortable, especially as we approach the season when his mood lowers and mine elevates. (Winter SAD and summer SAD, pleased to meet you). My heart was just…full.
I think this says it best.
I love you – I am at rest with you – I have come home. – Dorothy L. Sayers
