Arminianism: The doctrine of salvation as formulated by Dutch theologian Jacobus Arminus (1560-1609). Pastoral, rather than systematic, in nature. Represented by the acronymn FACTS (Freed by Grace [to Believe], Atonement for All, Conditional Election, Total Depravity, Security in Christ).

Freed by Grace – God calls all to repent and enables belief

Atonement for All – Christ died for the sins of everyone

Conditional Election – God saves those who have faith

Total Depravity – sin impacts every person, and every part of every person
