31 Days of Cheering Them On: Introduction

cheering-them-on

Gentle Reader,

It’s that time of year again!

Every October, bloggers across the internet take part in the 31 Days writing challenge. One theme. Each day.

Tough, but also exhilarating.

I’ve been mulling over a few ideas for a couple of months, but the truth is that I don’t have time to participate this year. I hate typing that. But it’s true. I’m speaking at a discipleship conference on October 1. (Yeah, more on that later). Trying to figure out how to operate a Facebook page for this blog. Doing tech and teaching stuff for the Autumn women’s kick-off event at my church. Running a book launch team. Leading a small group. Still in the throes of studying Zephaniah. Discussing the character of God with my new chaplaincy group at the shelter.

And, you know, stuff like being a wife and a daughter and a friend and exercising and trying to find new vegetarian recipes that aren’t salad and working and feeling crappy a lot of the time.

I’m okay(ish) with the busyness level. It’s only for a season. I’m doing exactly what God wants me to do, and it’s a blast. It just so happens that the busyness coincides with the entire length of the hardest writing challenge known to man, outside of penning an actual book.

So, I’m not writing my own series.

What I am doing is standing on the sidelines, cheering on my blogging buddies. Thirty-one different blogging buddies, to be exact. Some new, some old. Each Friday you will find a brief excerpt from 7-8 of their entries, followed by a link to the original post. I am delighted to use this little platform to give them the recognition they so richly deserve.

This is going to be so much fun!

My journey to faith. (15)

  1. Cheering from the sidelines is just as important as participating in the writing of a blog for 31 days! Geez, I thought I was busy! Doing what the Lord wants you to do is also very important and your presence at the aforementioned activities will truly make our Heavenly Father smile! Love you!

  2. This is just sweet, Marie. I was really wanting to participate too but this year I am learning how to finish well, how to “follow through.” Our vehicles went coocoo, my hubby has had doc apps, and I need to finish the Ruth Study as well as I am part of a book launch starting mid Oct, plus an Emotional Freedom Growth Group just started. There’s the voice that says, “Meghan, you aren’t taking a risk, daring,..you are worrying too much,: But when I look at my current plate, though not overflowing yet, I always go back to His still voice within saying I am good right here. Been thinking of how the Bible says He doesn’t give us more than we can handle, and I think sometimes I do it to myself. So here’s to joining you on the sidelines and getting ready to stop by and read what other’s have to say this month! I was sort of feeling that way, told Susan today in fact and read this so yep….*picks up some pom poms and hops to it* ~ PS: Congrats on all your hard work!!!
