P119C – Days 125-126
Gentle Reader,
Today’s Verses:
“ I am Your servant;
Give me understanding,
That I may know Your testimonies.
It is time for You to act, O LORD,
For they have regarded Your law as void.”- Psalm 119:125-26
Point to Ponder:
Understanding the Word of God leads to a desire for God to act – to come through on His promises. Jesus promised that He would return – I ask Him more than once a week to do so. The prophet Amos cried out of justice – I want God to deal with those who oppress the weak and needy. Belief and action, action and belief. The one always depends on the other.
Interesting how we always try to play the hypocrite, hoping that the time will never come when we must declare ourselves boldly and publicly. We keep our beliefs quiet, desiring to blend into the woodwork. No, I’m not telling you to put on suit and tie and start going door to door asking your neighbors if they know Jesus. But what is your attitude like at work? What is mine like?
The real question: What is it that we really believe?
Grace and peace to you,
