P119C – Day 91

August 20, 2011

Gentle Reader,

Today’s Verse:

“Your laws endure to this day,
for all things serve You. “

- Psalm 119:91

Point to Ponder:

I’ve heard many people, believer and unbeliever alike, complain about the “unfairness” of God’s laws. I know I’ve done it before. We whine and moan about how He’s out to spoil our good time. That’s really the essence of sin, this mistrust in the heart of God and this desire to go our own way.

Let’s think about this for a moment, though. Don’t sleep with anyone other than your spouse. Can anyone honestly say that being promiscuous or having an affair has brought them true happiness? Be content with what you have. Can anyone honestly say that striving for “more” has brought them anything but misery and constant dissatisfaction? Set aside one day for rest and worship each week. How is the 24/7, 365 day rat-race working out for us here in America?

God’s way makes sense.

Grace and peace to you,
