P119C – Day 80

Gentle Reader,

Today’s Verse:

“ Let my heart be blameless regarding Your statutes,
That I may not be ashamed. “

- Psalm 119:80

Point to Ponder:

The only way to be in the presence of Holy God is to live in His ways. Try though we may to justify and rationalize our actions, there is no way around this truth. Salvation comes only by acknowledging our sinful state and our need for a Savior. After that acknowledgement, we must seek out the only and correct Savior, Jesus Christ, for nobody gets to God except through submitting to the reality of His death and resurrection. His grace, our faith.

From there, we are made new. We are wholly adopted and redeemed, placed among His chosen people. He calls us to live rightly and obey His commands as a sign of our love for Him. While there isn’t any condemnation for those who are in Christ, our sin should appall us. It should drive us immediately to confession and repentance – because we know to what great lengths God has gone to save us.

Salvation isn’t cheap. Don’t treat it that way. Don’t go out there are do whatever you want because you’re “covered.” I know I’ve had that attitude often enough.
